Sports News – Week of May 13, 2019

Dear Parents & Teachers:

We have some important announcements so please read on!

CPS Girls Soccer Competition – Week 5 Results

The 5/6th Grade Girls played their best game yet this season this past weekend against Belding. The opposing team had a deep roster of 14 girls, and the Pumas ultimately lost 4-3 in treacherous, rainy conditions.

Representing the Pumas this weekend playing the entire game were players: Angie, Angelica, Katy, Julia, Annaliese, and Reina. The girls came out more aggressive than ever before and it showed. Angelica scored two goals in the first quarter giving the Pumas an early lead. Playing up top both Katy and Angie made some excellent runs and did a great job creating space and getting open. Julia and Reina defended our goalie Annaliese in the first half and made it tough for Belding to get by. Worth mentioning, Reina played her second game of the day, so her speed in back was especially impressive.

Running out of gas the second half the girls continued to see the ball well and gave awesome efforts. Angelica scored another goal in the second half scoring all three goals. In hopes to help extend some leg speed Julia stepped up to play goalie the second half allowing Annaliese to help cover the field. While we came up one goal short Coach Kamin is extremely proud of the way the girls played and worked as a team.

Noticias Deportivas
